It's goodbye to the perishing cold dry days and hello to milder wet ones. It's been pouring down most of the night and still going. I'm still in bed. 😀

Morning allThanks for starting today's @GersI wish I could sleep in at the weekend but I'm up so early in the week for work that there's not enough time to change my body clock during a 2 day weekend!I haven't looked outside yet but according to the forecast here in Kent it's going to be a low of 1 and a high of 4 and cloudy and tomorrow it will rise to a heady 11 degrees whoopeeeeeNo plans for today apart from making some Twinks, a bit of ironing and popping out to fill my car up for the coming week. I can't contain my excitement lolKeep warm everyone x11

Morning all,
Sorry for not being here since August but things got very busy with caring for my parents. Both my parents are now in nursing homes which is much better and safer for them.I have now started to adjust to a new routine, so I aim to get back into a more simple, old style living again. Last week I actually made a sponge cake.
Today is visiting day, we can manage to visit two parents in one day, we did attempt three but it proved tricky working around their meal times and naps.
Take care

Morning All
A change from the cold and frost, it's wet and windy this morning. Much milder but the house will take a while to warm up so the heating is on.
Good to hear from you Peony, glad your parents are settled.
I have a few jobs to do this morning including taking back a very overdue library book, took me ages to read it but kept thinking it may get better. I'll renew the others I have and get back into the habit of reading before I go to bed.
Work was a bit odd, I had to have a word with my colleague about things she's making up to cover her mistakes. I decided to say nothing else but will be very careful in future.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX11 -
Morning all. No overnight frost but it still looks cold.
Did a bit of ironing and cleaned the bathroom yesterday then met some friends in the evening for a pub meal.
Today we have my postponed birthday dinner so the family will be arriving at 12pm for lunch at 1pm. Have brought a couple of garden chairs in to make sure we have enough seats and bought extra wine! It will be nice to see them all again.
It's definitely lighter later now so fingers crossed for a bit of milder weather.

Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers.
We had a magnificent sunrise this morning. It's not freezing, but bitterly cold with a stiff breeze. I am going to hang some washing out!!
Hope everyone has a good weekend.11 -
Good to see you back Peony, and lovely that your parents are now safe.I've made it downstairs, unloaded the DW and reset the lights - there was a two second power cut as I was getting dresed. Everything 'smart' resets except two table lights which always seem reluctant to reconnect. After I read the atrocious weather forecast for Sunday and Monday I decided to get my shopping, the strong winds and bouts of driving rain almost put me off until I thought of the storm coming. I also did a big load of white washing and hung it on the airer upstairs. Then I watched a number of recorded programmes and last night I cleared down the TV recorder on which I had kept watched programmes. Managed to squeeze in the last episode of Reacher too. This morning I'm going to have a wee breakfast at the cafe I couldn't get to for months last year, they are really struggling to keep afloat and only open a few hours at the weekend and Friday evenings for takeaway. We've also lost our local hotel, so many businesses still going under. After that I have a couple more programmes to watch before clearing the machine downstairs. There's the final portion of soup to have for lunch so I'll make more this afternoon. I'm still on the coughing and not well spectrum though 90% better than the last four weeks.@Nan - still sending you good vibes and love, and Mr Nan too. All the same to all of us who are still under the weather from a variety of causes.

Morning everyone
Raining and very very windy here this morning. I was shattered after work yesterday - I came home and did nothing other than read and watch TV. I put a pizza in the oven for tea, so no effort there!
This morning I need to make a pan of bolognese sauce - for tea tonight and to restock the freezer and have my banking to do. I'm stewarding at our local cinema this afternoon - The ballad of songbirds and snakes, it's a prequel to the Hunger Games movies. Eldest DD loved them when she was younger so we went to the cinema to see them all. Then DD will pick me up and little one will come back with me for tea and a sleepover.
Iris - I don't often see the sunrise, but I love watching the sunset from my kitchen window. There was such a beautiful one last weekend - little one and I stood at the back door watching it and talking about the colours.
Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Hi everyone,
I thought I'd posted but it seems not. I have COVID and am feeling rubbish.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. It still feels very brr here and the snow is still there despite the rain overnight. I intended getting the bus down into town this morning but didn't get beyond the drive before I was sliding all over so I changed my mind. The snow is still frozen and deadly and I thought the rain would have softened it. As there was nothing I needed desperately I decided it wasn't worth risking life and limb. The main thing on my list was a TKMaxx gift card but the birthday I need it for isn't until the end of the week so it can wait!
Just as the Arctic conditions are due to leave us I am dreading the gales that are due tomorrow. Being high up and on a corner I get the wind from all directions and fully expect the roof to take off!!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad and lonely. Welcome back PEONY I'm pleased life is now a bit easier for you. SILVER O as TAFF says most of us have nothing exciting to say and just waffle on so keep posting. Take care all be safe xx
