We've just had our Neff oven virtually give up the ghost between one day and the next after only six years moderate use - so, safe to say we won't be getting that brand again, or any other premium brand, for that matter...
Could anyone recommend a moderate price oven they bought and have been using for a reasonable time, say 3-4 years? Make and ideally model, if possible.
We'll be doing without and using hob-top/microwave cooking for a couple of months in an effort to save a bit towards it!
Very grateful for any thoughts.

If the oven element has gone replace it. Same for the thermostat, and the fan. Other than that I've never had an oven fail, and all these are easy and cheap fixes. My oven is a double built in Indesit.

Are you able to get it repaired? Which bit has packed up?
We have a Bosch, which is over 15 years old and has had a new fan and an element in that time.0 -
My Neff oven was new when the house built circa 2008... and apart from one element failed (when I tried the oven clean feature) it's still going strong. What has gone wrong to write this oven off? Parts will be available and sometimes can be a diy swap... But paying a tech to do the job may cost a bit.
Neff is mid level in the Bosch - Neff - Siemens brands in the BSH group.
Other brands can and will fail. Last house we had an Electrolux-group AEG brand where the main element failed within a short time frame. Easy enough to replace, but I'm competent with electricals and much other DIY trades.0 -
If it's just the element that's failed, it's an easy swap, little more effort than changing a bulb really, and about £10-20 for a replacement.
Fan is a bit more complex as you usually have to take the oven out to get to the back of it.
I've replaced the element twice on ours in 10 years. And the fan once.1 -

Personally I would be looking at a repair rather than replacement.
If you DO replace, I have a BEKO built-under double oven that has been OK for the last 4 years.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I bought a fitted oven that was ex display and 9 months later the element failed. Once replaced it lasted and was still going strong when we left moved house.
It does sound like it's the element and it's not a big job. Worth a try?

You may not have liked the other replies but this is a money saving site and those replies were spot on as far as money saving is concerned. A failed heating element is almost certainly the issue and that can happen to any electric oven from any maker, and many of them share common parts like heating elements.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with the heating element. I ask again: can anyone recommend a moderately-priced make/model of fitted single electric oven which has worked well for them over a matter of years?
Perhaps that is clearer...0
