Forget all the foam strips, or any that need to compressed to work. A strip of V shaped draught excluder is an effective solution. The strip is only a millimetre or so thick, and conforms to the size of gap to be blocked. It adds no effort to closing the door, and is invisible when the door is closed.

The plastic version (V-Seal 5M Draught excluder Weather Proofing Seal self Adhesive Gap Filler Stormguard (White) https://amzn.eu/d/1yICQkj  ) works very well, and is cheap. If you want something that lasts for decades, go for the metal (bronze) version.
