Morning All
Hugs to you Nanny, I hope you get the treatment you need.
No frost this morning but it's still quite icy. There seems to have been some rain or sleet or snow overnight making it lethal getting to the outside bin!
Strange goings on at work with my colleague and management which makes for an uncomfortable atmosphere in the office, hoping to hear what's happening today. I shall just keep myself busy and stay out of it.
Glad you got to your exercise class Gers, makes all the difference.
Hoping you're feeling less bruised this morning Izzy.
Friday at last, seems to have been a long week. Take care. XX8 -
Morning folks. Brr another cold one. The frozen snow and ice is still with us, I'm beginning to think it's a permanent feature out there.
With a bit of luck it'll be 3rd time lucky today for my lunch meet with DF. First she came down with the everlasting coughing bug and just as we were on track this week the blooming snow scuppered us! So finally, hopefully, today is the day! It will be good to get out and have a good old natter. I am feeling like a recluse.
I managed half a Friday Tidy yesterday before my book and heated throw started calling so I still need to do a quick flick and vac upstairs before I go out.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad and lonely. Thinking of NAN and a special hug just for you. Take care one and all, stay warm and safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start nmlc
Bright but so cold this morning.
Nothing much to say.
Thinking especially of Nanny and all the poorlies.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning all, we've had another bit of snow during the night but it's not quite as cold. The extra snow made it easier to walk outside but still plenty for pooch to roll in across the road. A lot of cars were still getting stuck at the end of the road yesterday. I was upstairs looking out of the window watching one woman struggling, then was furious when 3 lads from the local high school came past & 1 of them pushed the dustbin over. It was still waiting for collection and we'd been told to leave them out
Needless to say by the time I got downstairs they'd scarpered. I might just happen to be outside at 3.30 in case he's tempted again!
TA hope you get to meet your friend today.Camelot, I used to hate it when there was an atmosphere at work, hope it improves.Continuing best wishes & hugs NannyI doubt there'll be much happening today, possibly a quick walk to the park, and I forgot to get apples yesterday for the pooch. She has 1 chopped up and put into her Kong every morning after her walk - she won't be happy not having it :0, dogs don't need to talk, she just stares at me and looks at the fruit bowl, then barks if I don't respond quick enough!DH enjoyed his pizza at the pub, DS & I had fish( & chips for him) Tonight will be chicken shawarma on a flatbread. It's snowing lightly again now.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all. Heavy frost again overnight here.
DD's online meeting was cancelled yesterday but I had some stuff to take over to her anyway plus I got lots of baby cuddles so I didn't mind. Stopped off at a different Lidl on the way back and was able to pick up a few things.
Today we are expecting a company to come and look at our electric garage door. It took 18 goes to close it on Monday so it might be the sensor failing. It's still under warranty but the installers are no longer in business so we'll see what we get charged.
This evening we are due to be meeting a couple of friends for a meal at a pub on the Grand Union canal. It's a nice venue for drinks but I don't think I've eaten there before.
Stay warm everyone and look after yourselves.10 -

Even the temperature is in plus figures it seems to be the icy wind which makes it feel colder. Overnight and this morning there were heavy short bouts of icy sleet, it makes such a racket when hitting windows.I had tentative plans to do some shopping today but won't be putting even a big toe outside. My cough has returned so I'll remain hunkered down here. On Tuesday I'm having my two Freesat recorders upgraded, my Humax boxes are now about eight years old and still working perfectly well, however they can only record two programmes at a time (or record one and watch one). The new ones can record four at time (or record three and watch one). This means that I have to now watch a lot of stuff on the downstairs one which I've been saving up. So, hot drinks, electric throw and TV programmes will be my day.Keep warm everyone.9

Morning all
Gers staying in the warm sounds perfect! It's windy here this morning which will make it feel even colder. I need to go down to mam and dads today - Friday is banking day - then I'll get the bus straight down to work from near their house.
We've been very quiet at nursery this week, with a lot of poorlies, the ones who have been there are all coughing.
Camelot I agree it's awful when there's an atmosphere at work, ours are always caused by the same member of staff who our boss seems to think is irreplaceable - she's not!
I had a good chat with my doctor yesterday, who sent me a fit note for the job centre lady basically saying I am trying to work and cannot do more than I'm doing.
DD has enjoyed her first few days of her new job - she's off now until next Thursday.
I'd better get on - hope everyone has a good day x

Hi everyone,
-
I'm coughing and spluttering today, I thought I'd escaped the cold going round the family but sadly not.
Esben has gone off to nursery and Laura will be taking Esther to sing and sign this morning so we'll have a quiet couple of hours. Esben got very frustrated last night and ended up saying he just wanted Esther out of his life. He finds it hard to share Laura at times but he gave Esther a hug and kiss before he went off this morning so all's well.
Nanny, I hope you managed a decent sleep last night.
Have a good day.8 -
Morning, very brrrr! The heating is on and will be until the chimney sweep has been. We've got enough wood for a few days so I'll order some on Monday and it should be here then when the wood runs out. I've cleaned out the fire, the woodburner, the hearth, restocked the inside wood so I'm ready to go. I have a visit to the local B&Q, the Hellmouth as OH calls it, for a new toilet roll holder x 2. There's never been one upstairs so time to rectify that. Also a stop to get a very large bag of sugar, the Christmas clementines have not been eaten so time to turn them into marmalade and then home and wait for the chimney sweep. I'm letting the sun deforst my car rather than fight with the scraper. My blood letting has been postponed till February, the nurse is ill, so that's one less outing today too. OH and I definitely have to wrap presents today, because we're doing Christmas tomorrow with friendsSO, I wouldn't worry about having nothing to say, none of us have really, we're just good at waffling
Nanny, hope yo're raring to go to get some answers, I remember my head being in a whirl and forgetting loads so write any questions down so you don't forget them. More cwtches for you too, there's an unlimited supply, take what you need
Gers, best idea, stay in, hibernate
TA, enjoy your outing, obviously hibernating is not your style
dp1, that's good of your doc, is it worth investing ESA for you? not the means tested one, the other one. Izzy, epsom salts bath? Rosy, shame you can't give him a clip round the ear. camelot, hope your work atmosphere calms down... Take care all, wrap up etc,
