Great British Insulation scheme - EXTERNAL INSULATION?

Hi, 

I've been contacting various energy companies as I am eligible to apply for the insulation scheme. For various reasons my house would only be able to get external wall insulation out of external/internal/cavity. 

Does anyone have any success of applying for external wall insulation as most of the companies seem to say at the start they only offer cavity or loft insulation. Is there another way? Put up the cost yourself and claim back?

I am also trying to find a company to do this, so far had one company say they could, now the request seems to have disappeared into a black hole.   Will be chasing this week, hopefully you get better luck than me.
