Onfido verification

I was asked to use this to open a savings account with Investic. I was a bit nervous not having used it before, but succeeded in using the QR code etc. and scanning my ID and uploading it. I needed then for me to take a self-photo. Which I did checking camera settings, took photo but the process then stopped with no explanantion.Tried again and same happened. So I cancelled the application. How reliable is Onfido and how do I know my information is safe. Or is there something I can do?

I have just gone through this process as ID verification to sell my flat. I was sent an Amiqus email via the estate agent. I clicked on the QR code which took me to a link on my mobile to a programme called OnFido. I took a photo of my passport, then a selfie, and everything froze. I went back and tried again at which point it seemed to go through. The next page asked for my bank details, saying they would take £1 from my account and I would be subscribed to music, podcast, video, etc. This seemed really dodgy to me and I didn't input my details.
Instead I went back to the original email and chose "send an SMS" as the method of being linked to the ID verification programme. Everything seemed to go through this time and they didn't ask for my bank details. I requested a receipt of submission to be emailed to me. Strangely, this went to a hotmail account which I rarely use. I am not happy. Waiting for a reply from my estate agent about this.0
