Car Insurance - Home Owner

What constitutes a 'home' when looking for car insurance?
We have sold our bricks and mortar and now live in a caravan, we own the caravan, having bought it outright.
For the same price, we could buy a 2-bed house up north, but live in the south.
As we are both retired, we move locations, spending a few months in each place.
If we put down that we don't own our own home, the insurance is over double, going from £500 a year to £1200 a year!
We always pay our insurance in one instalment, so they will have the full payment upfront.
Can anyone help?

I'm sure one of our insurance experts will give a definitive answer.
However, I predict that it will confirm that your caravan does NOT constitute a 'home'. From your description, there is no degree of permanence.0 -
OP how do you answer the question, where will the car be kept overnight? That may be more of a killer question.0

Unless they clarify the term then it uses plain English definition/ as its used in common life.
If you are talking about a static caravan then I would say its defendable, if you are talking about a touring caravan and its currently parked in your parents back garden then I think its more difficult to say that the average person on the street would describe you as a homeowner.0
