On my android samsung A70 i have many photos I'd like to move to albums. I know how to do that, but the photos remain in the camera roll. So I have them duplicated which I dont want. Is there a way to place them in a folder then remove from roll please?.

I believe the camera roll is everything and from there as you say you can put them into albums
I don't think you duplicate them in terms of storage space it is just a pointer but anyway if you remove them from the camera roll you effectively remove them from the camera and therefore from the album1 -
When I move pics from roll to an album on my S21 it removes it from the roll, so it should work the same on yours.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

maybe that's a Samsung 'thing'? Very handy, but in all my android phones over the last few years (Xiaomi and Motorola), this has not been the case ie photos placed in albums are also retained in the camera roll.RumRat said:When I move pics from roll to an album on my S21 it removes it from the roll, so it should work the same on yours.1 -
Don't know how specific it is, I was answering the OP's question regarding Samsung. I get the choice to 'Copy to Album' or 'Move to Album'. It wouldn't surprise me if it's missing from other brands.tonygold said:

But isn't 'other brands' a little irrelevant for the OP since OP also has a Samsung, even if A series and not S.RumRat said:

Anyway I can confirm I have the exact same experience as you on my S20.
Are you upgrading to the S24 out of interest? I'm taken by the offers but am undecided as yet.0 -
Yes, it is irrelevant, which is why I said I was answering the OP's Samsung question...B0bbyEwing said:

My S24 Ultra is on pre-order and should be delivered on 19th Feb. With trade in and discounts I got £400 off and a free Galaxy Watch 6 worth £289. With the 7 years of OS updates now it was a deal too good to say no to.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Yeah I'm with you on that, although the Ultra is simply too large physically for me.RumRat said:

I'm looking at going one step up to the plus size. 512GB is a decent deal. I get £200 trade in on mine & then like you say, there's the watch. Not sure how much I'll get for it (don't need it as I use a Garmin mainly & my old GW3).0
