Large gazebo with roof ( like car port )

I have a shared garden fence that runs diagonally across my back garden. at the narrowest point its only 1.5 meters from the corner of my house which is very close, but thats not the issue.
My neighbour has suddenly erected a large gazebo with roof which sticks up above the fence, as you can imagine its very close to my house and not very nice to look at from my side.
Any comments would be most welcome on planning laws with regard to this, at the very least my neighbour should have consulted me before this structure went up

If it's a permanent structure, "the total height must not exceed 2.5m if it is located within 2 metres of the property boundary "
For a fence it's typically 2m.1 -
