feedback problem

just received an undeserved neutral feedback and wondered what people think I ought to leave in return. The buyer isn't a total newbie, got 36 positive feedback themselves. The item in question was a brand new tent which I sent the day after payment was received, sent it recorded delivery at no extra charge as they'd asked for it asap. This was approx. a month ago and they've now decided to leave a neutral, saying thanks, received ok but not had time to check it yet.

well at least it wasn't negative, and also they've given a reason for it (not having time to check it) so they can surely change it when they have checked that everything is not damaged. Don't panic over it.

You can't change feedback once left. OP that is rotten luck, and seems very unfair on you. Have you left them feedback yet? If so what did you do? Don't forget you can respond to their feedback.

Not left any feedback yet - just debating whether to leave neutral or neg. May be a bit harsh but I really think people should think very carefully before leaving feedback.

If I were you I'd return with a neutral feedback. Just put something like 'payment received'.
I think if they have the cheek to give you a neutral when you did your best to send the item quickly etc, they deserve a neutral back!

How about emailing them politely to ask why they left a neutral, and suggesting that they do a "follow-up" comment to say that they're really happy with your tent & service (once they've checked the tent out I guess).

This won't give you the positive 'tick' but will still be a bonus for you when people check your feedback because people tend to read your neutral & negative feedback rather than the positives!

Whether you leave a neutral or a negative is up to you, but a gently worded neutral would be better IMO - people also read the negatives you leave to work out what you're like... leaving a a negative here might be more damaging to you than leaving a neutral.

People can see you're a good guy if you don't give retalitory feedback - it gives a buyer more confidence that you'll try to sort out any problems that arise.

Out of interest, what does their "Feedback left for others" look like?

mostly left positives but also a couple of neutrals - one for a hand cream that had no scent and one for late delivery. I very rarely leave a neutral or negative especially without some email exchange first. You also get a warning page before you submit the feedback so I think they're totally out of order when I'd gone out of my way to help get it there quickly
  • If they needed it quickly and you did all you could to ensure that they got it quickly - how come "They haven't had time to check it yet".

They sound like Blue Meanies to me and don't deserve a positive!

I would leave a neg! but thats cos I am mean!! icon8.gif

Don't just put payment received becuase people will think that you are bit harsh leaving a neutral like that! leave something like "no communication - undeserved neut left......etc"
