Auto Aid Breakdown Cover

Whilst offering a good price as outlined in this week's MSE email, do be aware that if your car is over 10 years old at the time of a breakdown you will have to pay £25 for each call out.  I shan't be renewing with them this time, Green Flag seem to offer a better deal for my 10 year old car

Have a look at Driver Guardian - we were with these for several years until we had AA cover included when we bought our car last year. Paid less than £100 all in, to include full foreign travel.
Probably go back to them when existing cover with AA expires

I think they still offer a good deal. If we have 2 or fewer breakdowns I think Autoaid will be cheapest for the year, at renewal I will see what cashback/deals are available as at times the offers for the big names are very close to Autoaid. In some ways a £25 excess is a good idea, why should diligent motorists subsidise the careless - obviously one or two breakdowns doesn’t immediately equal carelessness but IIRC the RAC used to set the limit at 10 call outs for a car in a year which seems like an extreme run of 'bad luck'.
