Toilet lever/handle replacement gone wrong - need some advice

    Seriously well done - it must have been a fiddle.
    In total, it took about 2 hours.  Once I realised I wasn't the sort of person who could remove the cistern etc I just persisted with the safety pin!

    Good job. If or when the syphon needs replacing, it's quite straightforward to do.
    I paid £6.00 for that type at Homebase.

    I did no such thing!  Like you say, there's so much water, the less I tried the better.

    I did no such thing!  Like you say, there's so much water, the less I tried the better.

    I see now it's a close coupled type. 
    Thought it was a low level cistern. Bit easier on those.
