In total, it took about 2 hours. Once I realised I wasn't the sort of person who could remove the cistern etc I just persisted with the safety pin!ThisIsWeird said:So NFLO's idea worked?!

Good job. If or when the syphon needs replacing, it's quite straightforward to do.
