If the date of issue was 04 Jan 2024 and I've submitted the acknowledgement, am I right in thinking the date of service is 09 Jan and I have 28 days from then to issue my defence no later than 6 February?KeithP said:
With a Claim Issue Date of 4th January, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 6th February 2024 to file your Defence.2 -
Will the fact that I've submitted an acknowledgement of service today hinder anything? No not at all. On the contrary if you hadn’t acknowledged by the deadline you would have lost by default. Will I get notified via the court or MCOL when/if more detailed particulars arrive?I don’t know the formal process but I would imagine the claimant must submit detailed particulars by the 18th Jan if their claim is dated 4th Jan to both you and the court. You could try ringing the CNBC (prepare for a long wait) if nothing has arrived a few days after their deadline.am I right in thinking the date of service is 09 Jan and I have 28 days from then to issue my defence no later than 6 February?KeithP is our resident expert on dates and has already advised ‘you have until 4pm on Tuesday 6th February 2024 to file your Defence’. So you could start getting your head around the template defence thread and begin to draft your defence in readiness

The time you all took to help has really settled my nerves, I've been in such a stress. I'm so grateful.
I'll keep this updated if/when QDR follow up and I'll post the resulting defence.
what a cracking forum0 -

CPR7.4 refers to particulars being served within 14 days of service of the claim form, being 5 days after the date of issue. For a 4th Jan issue that would mean 23rd Jan.2
