Used car home delivery charges

I am shopping for my first car in Autotrader and found a car. I've contacted dealer for quote and finance agreement. I would like to get it delivered to my home and dealer is quoting £250 for delivery charges for ~70 miles distance. I feel it is high. What is the average delivery prices that dealers usually charge for home delivery?

Seems quite reasonable to me, if you don't like the fee go pick it up yourself. Its 70 miles back again remember as well as the time it takes."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Feels reasonable also. They're in to the realms of either using a low loader / trailer to bring it to you or another car following the driver of your new car down to bring them back.
I'd be going to pick it up personally.0 -
This forum regularly features tales of woe where people either (1) buy a car without seeing it and driving it or (2) buy from a dealer many miles away, and things later go wrong.
You seem to be planning to do both. Don't.3 -
Get a taxi to the dealer if you have to would be less than £250, but it’s not unreasonable0

...you would be better off going to see it before you buy it, 70 miles is not really that far and will be worth the efffort. Train, bus, friend, taxi??

Second all of the remarks already made. It’s only 70 miles away and to date you’ve not even seen the car. Having it delivered and then finding there’s issues with it and you’re just setting yourself up for problems. There’s been many threads on here along those lines. Not worth the risk0

I travel 60 miles every year for my cars service as it £100 cheaper per year after diesel.
At a main dealer, who would have thought.
Bus, train, friend.
Taken many friends to get cars, £15 per hour and diesel cost sounds about right.0 -
Have you had a terst drive?
If noy , hoe do you know you will like driving the car or it will suit you?
Much better to go and see it and buy in person.
