I've probably been living under the rock but just came across this. Do we now need a permit to park in our own drive way after paying to have the kerb dropped?

I feel like this is now and only Barking and Dagenham is doing it. Anyone has an opinion on the legality of this?

Look like the permit is for parking on the road, blocking your own dropped kerb.

As Soot2006 says you are reading it wrong, you need a special type of permit to block your OWN dropped kerb, if you don't need to park a car on the street you don't need one, if you do then its a bargain at £15 a year

  • And you only need it if you live in a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
  • I agree it doesn't mention your driveway, you are free to park on your own property (driveway). It looks like permission to park over your own dropped kerb, not sure if they are trying to keep the pavement clear for pedestrians or if it means actually you can park on the road with a permit outside your own house.
  • I see 2 options.
Will you park in front of your dropped kerb, if yes pay the very reasonable fee of £15.
    If not, don’t pay.
