I was just looking over the govt website pages relating to administering an estate between death and the Grant of Probate and it appears there was nothing stopping you from selling the property during the administration period. Is there a reason why you choose not to do this and not to make any payments on the mortgage either?

There is nothing stopping you marketing a property while waiting for probate but you can’t actually sell it until you have obtained it.
