Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Still very cold but doesn't seem to be frosty. I have the car tucked up right next to the house which makes defrosting a little easier.
Great bargains dp1, hope your DD enjoys her new job.
Wondered where you had got to Coxy! Sad to hear a relative was nasty to your Mum.
Hope Rob is feeling better Ruby, he's so lucky to have you watching out for him.
I have my rearranged hospital appointment this morning but don't have the letter for it so not sure if it really will go ahead, fingers crossed! I need to go to work then come back this way for the appointment which is a bit of a pain but at least I know where I'm going.
Hoping the children can get out to play today as they have been stuck in for the last couple of days due to the playground being too icy - they are like caged animals!
Must go and get showered, have a good day and take extra care in the wintery weather. XX11 -
Morning folks. Grr another light snowfall last night to top up the previous night's fall and currently minus 6 deg. I just heard a car going slowly along and the road sounds very crunchy! But we have sun forecast later so that might soften it.
No plans for today as bus trip day is postponed until the weather improves and it warms up a bit. I'm sure January is on an endless loop, the end still isn't in sight.
DP1 some good bargains there for you. We do have a Boots but they stopped selling baby and children's clothes quite a while ago. Back in the day, when my DGD's were little I used to look forward to their big sale for clothes for them.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting there, sad and lonely. Take care all stay warm and safe if you can xx

Morning
Another chilly one here but no snow. Two short work sessions today and I’m hoping to whizz to buy some wood in between, have a slot at our local hospice afterwards to drop off some donations and also need to dispatch parcels in two different places! I’ll hopefully also be home before dusk so can dog walk.Dinner isn’t sorted but maybe DM will feel well enough to organise something easy - otherwise I’ll dive in the freezer! Was disappointed last night that the football had bumped Silent Witness into next week 😠 but watched Ben Fogle instead and in awe of that couple living in such a challenging environment with such calm and love.AA10 -
Same weather here, very chilly but no snow. Yesterday we had a very hard frost which the rain soon dealt with. Today it's even colder, I'm hoping that it at least moves into plus figures later. My visit to my neighbour was very sad, he's so diminished and frail, bed bound and hardly eating. He was such a tall hefty man until a couple of years ago. The loss of his wife before Christmas hasn't helped. I'm glad I went up.As for today, I don't really know yet. Perhaps I'll hunker down in front of the woodburner. 😀 I hope that everyone is doing at least OK.10

Morning allies cold but not as cold at it has been, no snow for us thank goodness
Nothing much going on here today a bit of cleaning and maybe some de cluttering but no set plans
Right have a good day one and all stay safe warm and dry xxSlava Ukraini11 -
Hi all and thanks for the start @nmlc x Glad to hear your appointment went okay yesterday and enjoy the shorter day working.
I was pleasantly surprised when I left the house earlier as was expecting frosty pavements on my walk down the hill. Nothing at all which was good! Feel really awful for folks in the Highlands where it’s -11 degrees!
The WI meeting was informative and fun last night. We talked through the resolutions and voted on causes for the WI to lobby the government on this year, plus had a quiz. It was a good evening. I also bought a book from the sale table to add to the ever growing pile!
Dinner tonight is ostrich steaks – we’ve not had them before, so will report back! I will also assemble a pie for tomorrow night using leftover turkey and gammon from Christmas and some leeks.
Hope all goes well at your hospital appointment @camelot1001 – believe me, hospital letters are the bane of my life working here!!
Sad that you won’t get out and about today @TravellingAbuela – sounds like a wise choice to stay home x
I missed Ben Fogle @AlwaysAllie – will need to find it on catch up.
Sad about your neighbour @Gers – I expect he welcomed your visit though. Stay warm up there!
Have a good day everyone and take care if you’re out and about, or better still, stay home in the warm!

Morning all, today it's grey and cold and I'm glad I went to town yesterday when it was sunny. I have put a wash on and I shall potter about until I have to go to the hospital this afternoon to see the consultant again, not looking forward to that one bit. I must hope for the best and expect the worse as they say.
dp1 there were lots of baby clothes in the sale in Matalan, rails and rails of them. I pointed them out to Mr Fix It as we used to buy a lot for the DGC when they were little. Now they are into named stuff and DGS is sized as an adult !
Coxy I hope the horrible relative takes heed and also apologises to Mum.
Gers that's very sad about your neighbour. You cheered him up no doubt.
AA another here that missed Silent Witness yesterday, it was the second part too.
Camelot hope the children get out today, they seemed to be the same when it was windy too. Hope your appointment goes to plan.
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing
Take care all

Morning all
No snow here 😩 but the sky is looking very white so I can hope, no Rob today as I called mum yesterday and she said he is still not right she seems to think he may have a sore throat as he keeps stuffing things in his mouth, obviously he can’t tell us what’s wrong so it’s a bit of guess work, he is on such a restricted diet that she won’t give him a Lemsip type of hot drink, I told her to give him honey and hot lemon but I bet she doesn’t !
So day off for me today I shall nip out this morning and get the shopping then back to take the dogs out for a walk, dd is off to see her friend and baby.
Dinner tonight will be Fahitas, I had the chicken sausages last night and I am not a fan 🤢 I only ate one they were far too herby for me I shall have to look around for some beef ones.
Will have a quick tidy round and run the hoover over.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, the snow has frozen solid apart from our road which was compressed and is now sheet ice. I do wish the council would put a grit bin near us as cars really struggle to get out onto the main road as it's on a slope.Poor dog went out at the back early on and all 4 legs skidded
We were very careful on the walk and it was short
!
We had a match last night, I went with DS2 and 2 of his friends. It was ok round the stadium as the snow hadn't iced over then & car park gritted. DH stayed at home in the warm. Met up with DB1,grandson & DN. I made a chicken stew type thing with the leftover chicken. Tomorrow I bet my shopping won't get delivered if the road is still like this, I'll have to raid the freezers again, running a bit low on fresh veg etc though.
Hope the ostrich steaks are good @Coxy11 .Shame about your outing TAGers, poor chapThat's about it from me so I'll wish you all the best day possible x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning everyone we had snow yesterday and it’s bad walking here everything is ice I don’t need to be careful I’m in agony today I fell over yesterday and what a clattering I landed on my hip and it wasn’t in the snow it was in the house trying to avoid the dogs ball and tripped over the rug trying not to bang my head of the hearth and save a cup of coffee I came down with a thud I’ve taken paracetamol I was alright last night but today it is aching I’ve just come in from a cleaning job and I must admit I struggled I’m off to work soon I will take some more paracetamol and a hot bath when I get in what a plank I am it looks like I won’t be able to go running on Saturday but you don’t know I might be alright by then . Gers how sad about your neighbour I hope everyone stays safe and warm we have sunshine but there’s no warmth in it . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9
