Scotland Parking Fine

Hi all,
I’ve been receiving letters from GCTT regarding a parking fine from 2021 in Tesco. I wasn’t driving that day and I can’t recall who was at the time. I have now received a letter saying notice of transfer to solicitors… do I continue to ignore or do I contact them stating I wasn’t driving at time?? I also don’t own this car anymore.

GCTT - spawned from ZZPS debt collectors. Wherever you are in the country, but especially in Scotland in the context of private parking charges, debt collectors can be ignored. If they transfer this to decent solicitors, they will be told not to be totally stupid, as without the confirmed name of the driver, and/or an alleged debt of less than £300 (in Scotland), they have zero prospect of any legal success.Forget them. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hello Eileen, welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately you have given away a lot of your personal information, including your full name (also used as your forum username), your full address, your vehicle's full registration mark and the full PCN reference number.
Enough information to uniquely identify you and this parking incident.
To get your forum username changed to something completely anonymous, have a read of this item from the Forum's FAQs:I would also suggest that whilst writing you ask MSE's Forum Team to delete that image from your opening post. Can I change my username?
In most circumstances, we don't allow this.
The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk e.g. you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something which gives away your identity within your username.
If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com your current username, the email address you registered with and three alternative usernames in order of preference.

Not that it matters in terms of our advice.
Standard advice is IGNORE IN SCOTLAND but the law will change next year:
