Gers my lovely neighbour who died used to be at our old house and she was still there i used to go back to visit her quite often i wish we could have moved her with us as we could not have wanted for better over the years she took our bathroom and kitchen in when we had them delivered and let us use her house during the renovations and treated my children like her own grandchildrenGreat neighbours are a jewel, you hit really lucky. So sad that she's now gone.I reluctantly got up and dressed, the trouble is that I can't lie in bed when awake. Except for an hour or so when I first wake up, after that I need to be up. It's the bane of my life.If I sleep late then that's OK, otherwise I face the chill.
I've just sent in my monthly electricity meter reading and got a message that it seems much higher than normal - yes, because last month it was a estimated and this month I've been putting the electric radiators on frost setting, 8c, so they've been on day and night. It takes the chill off the air, especially upstairs and in the back of the house where the heat from the woodburner doesn't reach.9 -
Freezing here but surprisingly no frost .
I was out before 8 taking the car to the garage for its new shoes ( was DH expression !)
Theyre certainly more expensive than children’s shoes !,
Off to book group in a minute and then some errands in town .
Glad the funeral went well TA and lovely to have new baby cuddles .
Stay warm all10 -
Morning everyone I hope you are all managing to stay warm it’s freezing here but no snow yet I’m supposed to be going for a walk after work but I might call it off if it gets any colder and definitely if it snows . Just finished a cleaning job I’ve got a nice bowl of soup for lunch then off to work I worked in my scarf and fingerless gloves yesterday it’s a big old cold building I will be doing the same today I had my heating on when I came in last night the log burner is on but the kitchen was so cold you couldn’t work in it and upstairs needed thawing out it is a bit lighter on a night but these dark morning’s are horrible but nothing we can do about it shepherds pie with veg tonight that should warm me through. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Morning all, how annoying, just lost my post! We have quite a bit of snow, looks nice at the front and DDog loves rolling in it and being quite giddy for a dog her size and age! Luckily yesterday we had a ride over the moor to a wood place to collect some logs, it was a glorious day, wouldn't be able to get there today. DH took the car in for MOT, took him 2 1/2 hours there and back due to gridlocked roads, and he'll have to go and get it later. The council said the gritters were out at 5.30- the snow was forecast for 3am!TA glad to hear your DBs funeral went as well as it could- nice to know he was so well thought of.I've taken some meals out I made and froze for later.I spent a lot of the day yesterday cleaning and tidying ready for my cousins visiting today - now they aren't coming due to the snowy roads.Haven't posted for a few days so have been catching up. @Coxy11 thank you, DGS foot is fine now, yes studs were involved, but he played on Sat. and scored a cracking penaltyRight better see about some lunch prep - take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning...no, didn't go out again yesterday but i must absolutely go out today, Ohs bike is playing up so he wants me to pick him and the bike up from work so he can take it straight to be repaired. And it is very brrrr too but there's no point lighting the fire until this afternoon when we'll be around to keep it fed. The chimney sweep is coming Friday so I'm hoping it won't be as cold Friday. But that still isn't stopping me wanting snow. I expect if I lived somewhere where it snowed all the time I would be sick of it but I can't help it, I love it.TA, how lovely so many people came to say goodbye and represent. Ruby, Rob is very lucky to have to you looking after him like that! Izzy, how about a little pot bellied stove in your kitchen too? the flue can go out a wall as well as a ceiling. WL, I will have to remember that place [ if I can!] dp1, fingers crossed for the first day at work! Take care all, be nice to yourselves because you're allowed to beNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi7

Hello all, I'm on the late shift today. We've been to town this morning as I wanted some new sofa scatter cushions. Tried Dunelm then Matalan but nothing suited both of us so we ended up buying from the new Range/Wilco store. Considering Mr Fix It decided " I don't mind what we have" he was quite vocal about my choice 🤨 so we compromised. I also treated myself to a new peg bag and bathroom mat set plus some more cough sweets and a new hairbrush, such excitement ! We didn't even stop for coffee as town was soooo cold and everyone was walking around with "Wallace cheesy grins" because of the cold wind 😁
I haven't read back yet so will have lunch and take a look. Hugs if you need them and healing vibes to the poorly ones.
Take care all, stay safe and warm.

Hi everyone and thanks for the start @nmlc x
Haven’t posted for a couple of days and now a late one from me. We had a busy weekend, finished off by a relative being nasty to my Mum. As her POA she asked me to step in for her wellbeing which I was only too happy to do. Hopefully a line has been drawn!
Work has been solidly busy these past few days. Ms Moanlot continues apace but it’s now white noise to me. I just need to keep going to pay the blessed mortgage off – hopefully this year!!
It’s WI tonight and we have a quiz planned. I need to cook a quick dinner – DH is in Solihull so will ping his later. I’m looking forward to seeing the ladies – they are a nice bunch. Is this something you could look into @silver-oldie, @Redcross as there are a lot of daytime groups and you can go along for free twice to try it out? I only joined in August and ours is an evening group as a few of us still work.
Lovely for folks to come together yesterday to remember your DB @TravellingAbuela – sounds like a lot of love in the room for him. So glad you had baby cuddles too – can’t beat those xx
Poor Rob – I hope he’s feeling brighter tomorrow @RedRuby1321 x
Sorry to hear about your former neighbour @bellabella x
Enjoy your time with SIL @Redcross x
Good luck to your DD with her new job @dp1, hope all goes well x
How many days now @IzzyBee? Tick-tock….
Well done to your DGS for the penalty @RosyRed – proud nannie moment J
Right best get on.
Hugs to all the poorlies and those feeling low xx

Quick hello
Another full day at my supposedly pt job (short staffed) including training a new person - my brain is fried.Managed to pop at lunchtime for a piece of fabric needed and also pounced on a lovely mustard coloured downie jacket in the charity shop!AA7 -
TA - if you have a Boots near you, I bought some lovely baby girl clothes this afternoon - for a baby to be born in April to eldest DD's friend. They have a 70% off Sale on some of their childrens ' clothes. I got a lovely set of dress and tights and a little romper and hat set - should have been £29 and I paid £5.70 for both!
Also a couple of dresses that will go away for little one for Easter - £6 for both when they should have been £10 each. I only went in for my prescription!
Just had a lovely long chat with DD in Germany - she says they've been told to work from home tomorrow as it's going to be very icy - they already have a lot of snow. She's quite happy to stay in the warm.6
