Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Very cold this morning but no snow yet thank goodness - nice to look at but awful to get to work in!
My colleague returned to work yesterday, I actually had a lunch break, such a novelty. Boss is off today so we'll get a breather. Trying to sort out a clash of dates is proving to be a bit difficult.
I'm meeting DD after work to go to a shop where I get a discount on Tuesdays, she wants to stock up her freezer. Hopefully I'll get a cucumber as they seem to be in short supply round here.
Hope everyone is well or recovering and you all stay safe in this weather. Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks. A light covering of snow for us up here overnight. I'll settle for light if we must have snow at all!
My DB's funeral yesterday went well and what a crowd attended. He had been a biker all his life and the biking brigade turned out in force. The chapel was full, with standing room only, even the doors had to be left open so those outside could listen. It was a lovely and moving tribute to a man well loved. SIL had booked the local restaurant for afterwards and they put on a lovely buffet of hot and cold stuff. What was the real treat for me was I got a long cuddle with my new great niece. I didn't want to hand her back, she is beyond gorgeous.
Today, weather dependent, DF and I are resuming our lunch meets at last. Like others on here she has had the coughing bug since Christmas and finally feels well enough to go out. We have much catching up to do if we finally make it! I hope we can nab the table by the fire this weather.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better, sad and lonely. Take care all and stay warm and safe xx

TA - lovely to hear that your beloved brother's funeral went so well. And then some fabulous cuddles too.No snow here, the forecast has 'flurries' in it, if it does arrive it'll be in town I expect. 🤞
Yesterday I did loads in the morning and then slumped in the afternoon. I gathered a wool wash, somehow jumpers get worn a long time, so everything is now on the airer. Car fuelled, windscreen washer filled, more fluid ordered, car reg plates cleaned, car lights cleaned and all the wee cameras on it cleaned too - I found eight. I had written three cards and got them posted - one condolence, one belated birthday and one for my cousin in Berlin.Today will be much lazier, I'm going up to the big house to visit my elderly and frail neighbour whose wife died just before Christmas. I haven't seen him because of my illness but now feel more able and no longer infectious. I'm struggling to think what to take him as he mostly dozes, doesn't read anymore. I usually ask him about his (very interesting) life which he's happy to relate.Keep warm and safe, I hope that the snow doesn't fall too hard.10 -
Morning all
Cold and very frosty here but no snow they are still saying we may get some tomorrow 🤞
Rob and I had a lovely day yesterday we met with friends and did a three mile walk which was bracing but a portion of chips at the end warmed us up, we then walked back to the car and I stopped at the £1 shop for a few bits, he was wrapped up warm with a hat that we bought for him which stays here, a scarf that dd gave him that stays here and one of OH big warm coats, his mum sends him in a light weight raincoat 🙄 mum emailed me last night to say she thought he was a bit poorly so would be keeping him off today, he was fine all day so I’m not sure he is even poorly but it’s her choice.
So I just have the two today and we need to decide what to do, I will ask them when they get here, there is always another friend we can meet with and maybe bowling.
Dinner tonight will be sausage and mash with onion gravy and carrots and broccoli, I have bought myself some chicken sausages instead of the pork so will see what they are like.
TA I’m glad yesterday went as well as it could xxx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning all; no snow here yet. It can stay away as far as I'm concerned.
We had a lovely day in London yesterday, although the wind was biting. Started off with a huge bacon sandwich in the International Salvation Army Hq Cafe near St Paul's; next time we'll be sharing! Chose a pub for lunch when we visit and they showed me a room where they can seat us; reasonable choice of food for everyone there. When we'd finished the walk we popped in to a Pret near Chancery Lane for a coffee and, by chance, there was someone we knew having her lunch there! She works nearby and was equally surprised to see us.
Today I'm meeting DD and baby at the City Centre so, again, I'd better get a move on.
Hope everyone's day goes well.10 -

Good morning everyone. We have a covering of snow here and light flurries still coming down. Fortunately I did my little bit of shopping yesterday but I am being picked up to visit my SIL but at least I don't have to drive.
I am glad that yesterday went as well as it could TA, it is of some comfort to know just how loved and well thought of your DB was.
So as usual thoughts are with the poorlies and those with problems.
Take care xx7 -
Morning all Brrr its a cold one here as well but no snow thank goodness DS took forever on his bike this morning to the extent i was about to get the car out to look for him i was getting worried still he is home now and said the roads were bad and icy
Gers my lovely neighbour who died used to be at our old house and she was still there i used to go back to visit her quite often i wish we could have moved her with us as we could not have wanted for better over the years she took our bathroom and kitchen in when we had them delivered and let us use her house during the renovations and treated my children like her own grandchildren
TA Pleased all went well yesterday it sounds like a wonderful celebration of your brothers life
Has anyone heard from Marie lately ?Also there was a lady used to post irregularly she had cancer and lived alone for the life of me i cannot remember her name I hope she is doing ok
Hugs to all our poorlies and those looking after a loved one stay safe warm and dry and have a good day whatever you are up to xxxSlava Ukraini8 -
BELLA I know who you mean, is it POPPY? No we haven't heard from her in quite a while I don't think. Nor MARIE either since her DH was quite poorly. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9

Morning everyone
Very cold here this morning, but no snow yet.
I have a phone call from the job centre this morning and then I will get the bus to town to pick up my prescription. Then another bus straight down to work.
It's DDs first day at work today, so I'll pick little one up after school and take her back to their house. DD finishes at 3pm so it won't be long till she's home, it's about 30 minutes drive, then she'll drop me off back at home. I'm hoping everything goes well - the last job she tried to do, little one became ill as soon as she started and ended up in hospital. DD was taking so much time off that she gave up and stayed at home with her for a while.
TA pleased to hear your brothers' funeral went well - I bet those baby cuddles felt extra special.
Better get on. Hope everyone has a good day today x10
