I keep seeing these 'Over 50s' policies and I know Martin has written an article about them (they aren't ideal apparently) but I've had a look on comparison sites and there's an option to do either life insurance quote or over 50s life insurance quote - has anyone found any benefit in doing over 50s only?

If you mean the “no medical” ones then there’s a benefit if your suffer from poor health as you won’t be penalised.
thats about the only benefit, unless you really hate answering questions (it’s an expensive to avoid answering questions)

I think you need to know why it is you want it and be clear on that - then get advice.

The "no medical" have the benefit you don't need to declare your 4 heart attacks or your prior history of cancer and so have some prospect of being offered cover at an affordable price. Because of the negative selection and more stricter terms if you are of good health then standard insurance is likely to be better value and cheaper.
