Virgin ' Same package, same price, no fuss' offer

My 18 month contract with Virgin is ending soon and I received an email from them offering me the opportunity to renew my existing package at the same price for another 18months. The offer expires on 7th February. I originally thought this was a scam but apparently it's legit!
I am content with my existing deal and would renew if I knew the new contract would not be affected by the proposed price increases in April 2024. Does anyone know if you take up this offer will the price go up in April 2024???
Thanks in advance

Surely the ability to increase prices during the contract term should be mentioned in the T&Cs.  My contract (not Virgin) states an annual increase in line with RPI (or something) will happen.

You will still get hit by a price increase each April. I beat Retentions around the head on that point and they wouldn't move. The only way to avoid the price increase is to find another supplier that doesn't inflict it on their customers. I found one, but their monthly rate was a little more expensive than Virgin even accounting for a possible 10% rise mid term.

When does your contract end?  Mine ends in on 11th Feb and I havent received any email about new contract offers yet so wondering if I might expect one soon.  Thanks
  • My contract finishes on 4th March 2024.
  • Re the Virgin same package, same price, no fuss offer I have some 'personal picks' e.g Sky Sports and Cinema collection, Netflix Standard, Kids Pick and some promotional discounts.  Are these personal picks and discounts  part of your 'package'  that will be renewed at the same price??
  • I think the difficulty one has when you come to the end of your contract or being given the offer of renewing at the same price , is knowing whether or not you are getting the best deal.
For example, my current package includes Maxit TV , a TV 360 box, an additional box, Netflix standard, Sky sport and cinema collection, Sky entertainment and Cinema Ultra HD, Sky Sports HD pack and Kids Pick. Volt Gig1 Fibre broadband and Virgin phone Talk more anytime.
This currently costs me £64 per month. How does this compare with others?
  • @rockford who is that with, Virgin? I am paying over double that with Sky for less :(

I am on exactly the same deal, got an email over xmas with offer to renew "Same Package" "Same Speed" for £77 per month.  A closer look however shows no Netflix and Maxit TV replaced with Mega TV which doesn't include TNT sports. Adding these back makes for a sizeable increase plus a further increase to look forward to in Apr.
  • @foxandflowers I currently with Virgin
