Shared ownership property lease extension

Dear all,

I have seen few posts regarding the Shared ownership property lease.

They mentioned that the under the new Shared Ownership model as part of the government's Affordable Homes Programme, it is expected that leases will be extended to 999 years as standard.

Is this true? Is the government still considering such action?
