Octopus - smart meter problem

  • Hi I recently had my main fuse upgraded to accommodate my electric combi boiler. We have no gas . I have solar and a battery and am with octopus energy. Octopus needed to do the tails to the metre to make them adequate to support the increased amps. With this they replaced my working Smet 1 with a smet 2 and I don't have a dab radio signal here. so now I am not getting paid for my export and have to send meter readings. The meter now doesn't seem to be recording my export either as it hasn't moved since 1st Jan and I know I have exported from my app. DCC are involved but so slow. Has anyone had a booster for their smart 2 meter and do they work? Would appreciate any advice on how to hurry them along (that is the polite way of putting it but I am sure you know what I really want to say). I have made official complaint and made complaint to DCC . Today threatened them with ombudsman , watchdog , MP and Martian as have template completed on my desk top. Any thought?

    Probably best you ask for this to be put into its own thread rather than add it to a generic 2 year old thread.

    Your complaint with Octopus starts the 8 week time period after which you can escalate it with the Ombudsman, unless you can get a deadlock letter from Octopus before then. The watchdog (Ofgem) does not get involved in individual consumer complaints. Only after you're not getting anywhere with the Ombudsman should you really contact your MP or the little green men.

    DAB radio is irrelevant.
    Are you in the south of the country where SMETS2 meters use cellular communications, or in the north where they use VHF radio?
    When Octopus installed the meter, colnd they commission it? What does it say on the screen of your meter?

    What model of meter do you have? Do you know how to read the export register?

    After eight weeks you can escalate your complaint to the ombudsman.
    Watchdog and your MP will expect you to follow the complaints process, as will Martin. Little green men don't usually get involved.
