yes circumstances have changed my partner was made redundant after we received offer, he is now self employed and has only been for 7 months, hence me not wanting to go through a new application 😞
You'd have to disclose any change of circumstances (especially one this substantial!) prior to completion anyway. To not do so would be fraud.

Strangely, once you've actually got the mortgage, the mortgage company doesn't care where the money comes from or what your circumstances are, so long as you keep paying!

This paragraph or one similar to it will have been in the terms of your current offer...
"Please note that we have relied on the
information and financial details that you
gave us (or which were given on your
behalf) in support of the application when
we issued the offer and agreed to enter into
the mortgage. If any of this information or
any financial detail has changed you must
tell us as soon as possible and in any case
    before completion."
A change from employed to self-employed is a significant change and one you must tell the lender about.
I know this is an additional frustration but the delay on the other side of your purchase may have saved you from committing mortgage fraud...

  • the sale has now fallen through as the buyer didn’t get their offer , but thank you for all the information
