HSBC OFFER EXPIRY

Can someone give me advice please 🙏 .. My offer is due to expire on the 20th January this week ! and i’ve been messed about by the buyer of my property ! they are still waiting on offer, they where original a cash buyer then changed to mortgage and didn’t tell me ! … I’ve been told if i make a small amendment to the original offer ie decrease the loan amount then that would refresh the offer giving me another 180days ? is that correct ?

The simple answer is ask them.

Plenty people have offers extended without having to adjust the application. That said I would have thought there would be better deals than you signed up 6 months ago?
  • I have asked them and they don’t do extensions :(

Yep. It worked about three weeks ago when we needed to do it.

This. Current rates must surely be lower than they were in July?

Mortgage rates have dropped in the last month, is there a reason you are so attached to the offer you currently have? Or is the concern there are circumstances you won't get a decent offer now?

Given the other party hasn't had their offer yet, as you say it is unlikely you will be exchanging contracts this week, so maybe an opportunity to get yourself a better deal.

    What is your current deal?
  • yes circumstances have changed my partner was made redundant after we received offer, he is now self employed and has only been for 7 months, hence me not wanting to go through a new application 😞
