For some reason I am unable to upload pictures but the visuals I received from the CAD drawing show the glass units in timber frame and blue. The invoice and all emails show the units as blue timber frame kitchen.
If you want to add any other images, if you happen to make about 3 more posts before trying again I have a feeling it might magically work ;)

  • With accepting to pay the £1700 and then seeking damages I don't know if agreeing to their offer and then going back on it weakens your position (it may not it's just outside my knowledge).
You would be risking it being viewed as an amendment to the contract (which it wouldn't be in my opinion, but as you say would muddy the water and make it harder to explain).

One thing I was thinking the OP could do would be to find a different kitchen installer who uses the same supplier (given the issue is the supplier doesn't sell direct to customers) and get them to order the replacement units - either paid for by the refund (if that's happened at this point) or then taking the original installer to court for any increased costs/the original cost.

The kitchen has already been designed and they know exactly which items they need to order so should be simple enough to get someone in the trade to order and fit?

  • Thanks- to replace the doors we’ve been told it’s £2500 and the kitchen designer said his company would pay £800 towards this with us paying the rest.

I have rejected this offer and said that I want a full refund for what we paid (extra for the reeded glass). However the kitchen designer won’t provide me with an itemised invoice so we can see exactly how much extra we paid for the reeded glass.

my thoughts were to give them the opportunity to replace.. (which I’ve done over several emails). As this hasn’t been successful I’ve sent a LBA- so far no response. Last resort is small claims court.

I’m not sure if I should claim £2500 the cost I’ve been given to replace the doors or a refund for what we paid for these doors (extra for reeded) but don’t have breakdown.
