Hello all, it's blummin cold here as that cutting wind is back. I was going to go to town today but I'll give it a miss as town is always a wind tunnel, perhaps I'll go tomorrow now. Everything I set out to do was done yesterday except the hoovering upstairs so that's my goal for today and there's some tidying to do too. There's some veg left from tea yesterday so I'll have that with a gammon steak tonight, Mr Fix It will have chips with his as he hates veg of any kind. Today I have ordered my meds as they take up to a week to get to me, the pharmacy is so busy now that they're advertising for more staff.
Bella so sorry to read about your neighbour, condolences to you and her daughter.
Take care all

I have been batch cooking this weekend before I go in next week for my procedure. 4 large beef stews just add dumplings and / or mash
6 shepherds pies and will do something with chicken later.
We had a lovely piece of beef yesterday, sadly too nice as we finished off for supper.
Feel like I am finally getting to grips with the fan oven after mor than 20 years with a gas oven !!
Sun is out but it looks windy again and last week that meant it was freezing out, we may pop out later
Hugs to all who want them, hope those poorly folk start to feel better.
Take care

Morning all! Sunny but very brr so I've just lit the fire. I obviously didn't go out yesterday so I am girding my loins to go out today. But it'll be Tesco or Sainsbury now because apparently they sell long socks too and I have some soft plastic to jettison. But I have actually been making a list this time which is only the stuff we've run out of or fresh stuff. It ended up chinese style pork yesterday, omg, delicious! the cauli, it was ok but not great, I'm not sure about roasting, it has gone a bit rubbery. Plenty for tonight though. And plenty of gravy left too. I have washing to do but the fire is on so it can go on the horse in front of it to dry and hang from the rail above [ I forced the brackets from a curtain rail into the picture rail for now, I'm planning on tiling the chimney breast this year [I've kind of told OH but kind of not] and putting a small victorian type airer above the fire that I've been carrying round with me for years. Good for clothes or herbs
OH enjoyed himself after all yesterday, he was full of it, so at least he'll enjoy it in the future.
Gers, thanks for that, I think I'll continue to sweep for now, no more room for another hoover really. Enjoy the class! Bella, my condolences, it's always a shock. TA, hope it all goes as well as can be today. wL, yes, you need eyes in the back of your head to look after childrenTake care all, it's a cold 'un, wrap up, watch lovely fils and eat biscuits and drink hot chocolate!

Back from my morning out, the sun is now brilliant but no heat in it. I ditched the recycling and glass, fueled the car, bought some kindling and cleaned my car lights, number plates and wee cameras. The roads are throwing up the salt / grit making everything mucky. The jet car wash at my garage was OOO (just as well as I hate using it) so taking a cloth to the important bits was the only option. Oh, and I filled up the screen wash thingy too.The farmer is buzzing around on the tractor taking feed to the cattle and sheep and his stocksman is doing more buzzing on the quad.Bella - what a shame about your ex-neighbour. Was she the woman who only moved away fairly recently?Off for my soup and sandwhich now.7

I managed to make some lovely soup at the weekend, with little one's help, it was parsnip and carrot. It could have done with being just a tiny bit spicier, but it was a lot better than my last effort. Little one enjoyed it for her lunch yesterday too. I've just finished off the last of it for my tea.
It's so cold outside tonight, I've put my bin out ready for tomorrow in case it's icy. The grit wagon has been up our estate too, which is very rare.6
