Essentials electric shower

Poor old Arthur and myself are sat here Christmas day and unable to have a shower. When you turn the shower on the water will come out of the shower head for a short while and then the low pressure light comes on and at that point the water stops. This has got worse over a period of time.
The water pressure is fine everywhere else it only seems to affect the shower.
We have caused British Gas as we have the Homecare 400 package but they cannot come until Friday.
Does anyone advise what the problem could be.
