If I Cancel Paypal?

I no longer use PayPal to pay for things from the internet but I have a yearly subscription paid for using PayPal that I have tried to cancel (it's only about £12.00 a year) but they always manage to get the money from PayPal somehow.
I no longer use the subscription but that does not stop it being renewed every year.
If I remove my credit card from my account and then cancel my PayPal account will this stop PayPal from paying the subscription when asked for or will PayPal reactivate my PayPal account?

I deleted my paypal account with 2 subscriptions on. They were cancelled when they were not paid as the account was gone. One subscription was a newsletter which has not been sent since. The other was for scooter hire who emailed to say the payment method had been cancelled0

it has been a while since I used PayPal but from memory isn't there a section where you can cancel the permissions for payments to be taken for specific retailer?1

How did you try to cancel it?JohnSwift10 said:but I have a yearly subscription paid for using PayPal that I have tried to cancel
I have no problem cancelling Paypal automatic payments when I want to. It shouldn't require you to delete the account
In Paypal account click on the settings icon (the little cog wheel) then select Payments > Automatic Payments
You should see a list of all such payments (subscriptions as you call them). You can cancel or edit as required0 -

Then go to "Money, banks and cards" on the right hand menu.Scroll down that page and you'll see "Pre approved payments" where you can cancel.
Also contact whoever the subscription is with and Paypal and tell them you haven't used this subscription for a while and demand a refund. You'll more than likely get one.
