Best way to save money from house sale

Hi all, just a quick question, we have just sold our house and have around 80k left to put into some savings for now until we buy somewhere else.
Probably be at least a year before we do, I've looked at a lot of different saving accounts but im currently a 40% tax earner so wondering if something like premium bonds will be worth doing.
I guess we could open an account in my wife's name as she is on the lower tax bracket but just wondered what people's opinions were on the best way to go, looking at some of the top savings accounts they are at 5.22 so a nice little earner each month but obviously the tax is going to dent that a fair bit for me, would an isa be a better option?
Obviously we'll look into it in depth before we do anything but not really had any savings accounts recently so dont know the best way to go.
Cheers

Cash ISAs. One for you and one for your wife takes care of 40K.
Put the rest into an easy access account until April then put another 20K into each of the ISAs.
ISA list here:
Best cash ISAs: up to 5.11% easy access, up to 5.01% fixed - MSE (moneysavingexpert.com)

Potentially- but if it’s only £40k for the < 3 months until the next tax year I don’t think it’ll make a difference (because you won’t get more than £500 interest)class2ldn said:Thanks il have a good look, would it be worth opening the easy access in just my wifes name ?0
