Will my Holiday insurance cover us?

We have annual multi trip holiday insurance that ends in March when we will take out a new policy.
We have booked a holiday in August.
If the worst was to happen and we had to cancel our August holiday before renewal, for say- illness, would we be covered?
Martin always says to take out Holiday insurance when you book.
Does this mean we should take out another policy now and have two policies overlapping or will the current one cover us for our August holiday?
Sorry if this is a bit confusing.
Thanks in advance.

No it would not cover you, you need to take out insurance now that covers August but it doesn't need to overlap."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

I would think you would be fine. Insurance with bank accounts also works this way. You need to make sure you renew or take cover elsewhere without a gap to maintain coverage.
read this article, where the journalist asked 3 insurers their policy and they all confirmed you would be covered. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/experts/article-4603020/Can-cancel-August-trip-insurance-ends-July.htmlLogically it has to work this way, as otherwise people with say 4 holidays booked across the year would always hit this problem.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. You need to read your policy document as some ploicies exclude holidays that take place after the end date of then policy.
Better to ask your insurance company than rely on people who have cannot read your policy document.1 -
I would expect your policy to cover you for a future holiday should an insured event happen before March however the number of scenarios are limited. For example if a family member (not in the travelling party) died before March then you’d be expected to take the holiday in august. So in practice you’d only be covered for death of one of the travelling party or permanent accident/illness of one of the travelling party, so fairly extreme scenarios,
in your shoes I would go onto the on-line help and ask your question or email them.
if it’s on-line help I’d ask for a transcript (this option is usually available) and I’d take a screenshot if the answer is postitive that you’re covered then you can rely on it.
