Afternoon! supremely lazy day so far, went to bed at four, got up at eleven, two cups of tea later I am awake...OH stayed up all night playing his xbox game, he's making the most of his time before he's back to work on Monday and he has to do his comedy thing tomorrow...I'm not sure if he's trying to stay awake so he oversleeps and can't go. It's in London and it's only for two hours but it'll take them two hours to get there and two hours back again...I will lie in and find some no carb recipes to cook...:) My cousin has covid and is very not happy, can't eat, throat like razor blades, and my sister has the January blues...Wish I could magic wand wand wave for them. And anyone else who needs the magic wand. No plans for the rest of the day, still doing some snotting and coughing so i'm going to slob and not even dress. I may pencil in wrapping Christmas presents tomorrow, I may not...camelot, how lovely of them..Izzy, omg, well done! also four more miles than I can actually walk, so big claps for you! Gers, good to hear you're almost back to normal again, it's a long old road with this one isn't it? The nurse I saw last week reckons it's covid under a different guise and the heart bloke reckoned it was flu...whatever it was, it's not nice that's for sure. So hugs for the weary and thems that want them, and marching bands playing loud music for the well...Next year I'm going to have to do a brass band search, I'd love to go and watch some...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi7

@Izzy - very impressive for a woman who says she's overweight and about to retire! Well done indeed.Despite not needing any shopping I drove up to Oban anyway and picked up a few unnecessaries. Before that I collected my meds and some more antihistamines, the generic and much cheaper version of piriton. Now I've read the Saturday papers and ready for a wee coffee.@Taff - I did covid tests which all came back negative. I'm now sneezing again so probably caught another cold whilst my immunity was low.
I will reward myself with a glass of wine later.

Afternoon all. A latecomer today as I felt the need to get out today after being cooped up nearly all week. I think it's a combination of everything but I feel so down in the dumps and can't shake it off. It's DB's funeral on Monday so that's the main thing getting me down on top of everything else. Not helped by being stuck in January forever. as well.
I braved the bitter cold and got the first bus down into town. Dithered a bit before deciding on Skipton and then onwards to Ilkley over the scenic route. It was quite busy there and I did a recce into a couple of their high priced cs for a browse round. I spotted a pair of new red leather gloves and a Next scarf (also brand new) so they were snapped up. And a bag of midget gems to scoff on the bus back (not from the cs!)
I was glad to get back home as I was starting to feel feel chilled to the bone. After a bowl of soup and a crusty roll I am now under my trusty heated throw warming my old bones up.
Enjoy what's rest of the day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and slowly getting better. IZZY well done you that's good going considering you haven't run before. Take care all stay safe and keep warm xx
