what are you trying to connect, pc or laptop?
any 802.11g usb wireless dongle will do.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
I thought virtually all laptops came with build in wireless these days.
If it's a desktop then as Albertross says any wireless dongle will do.
If you have a broadband provider they will most likely supply free of charge a broadband router. Orange do those Livebox things. These take care of all the networking needs as well.
So there's no need to even buy a wireless router for most applications, if you are having broadband.
I had a netgear unit that went US after 11 months, so that spurred me into installing that Livebox that Orange had sent FOC, then I took the netgear router back to the retailer for a full refundBehind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

If the laptop did have wireless capability it would not be an extra bit - it is built inWe all evolve - get on with it0 -
My son recently went through this procedure as he too had a laptop that was not wifi. He asked his ISP to provide a wifi router free, which they did, and he then priced out a wifi dongle. The one he bought was from Maplins at about £10 and it works fine. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

if your lappy has no wireless built in, then this type of wireless card is what you need.
(beware it wont fit a desktop PC. you need a pci wireless card for that, if req).
most desktops just use a cable to the router.Get some gorm.0 -

I agree, a PCMCIA wireless card is a much better solution than any USB dongle. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
