Happy Christmas techies !!!
Please can you guys help ?
I have bought my wife a new laptop for chrissy and am on bt broadband.I switched on the new lappy this morning and it soon found my wireless router and enabled me to go online once i entered the key off the router.
I have tried running the bt start up disc but it will not run as the laptop is vista. All i need to do is have the bt icon on the desk top so she can click to get onto bt and access all her bookmarks etc.Do i need to get a new start up disc from bt for vista?
anyhelp will be great
thanks Trev

Aren't the bookmarks stored in your favorites folder on the other pc? You shouldn't need to install any software.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Merry Christmas
In IE, file, import and export, export favorites, to a flash drive, then do the reverse on the new pc.
Not sure why you need the BT icon, what does it do, launch a dialer or IE?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
You don't need to install anything from the BT installation CD if all you require is internet access. The CD contains things like the digital vault, softphone etc. These can all be downloaded from the BT Broadband website, and I think these more recent versions are Vista compatible.te audire non possum. musa sapientum fixa est in aure.0
