Unsettled claim, but renewal soon

Had to make a claim this week on my buildings insurance. However, my insurance is up for renewal in a few weeks.
Knowing how long it takes insurance companies to put wheels in motion, do I need to declare this new claim when getting new quotes if the clam is still unsettled?
My logic would be that because I have to settlement figure, I've no need to declare it.

You will need to declare it. I think you confused the word hope with logic

No it's worse, you have to declare it as an unsettled claim. Increasingly home insurers ask about "incidents" as well as claims and so it's likely it'd be declarable either way.gbhxu said:Had to make a claim this week on my buildings insurance. You may find a number of insurers decline to quote when they see you have an ongoing claim.0
