I've read that approx 50% of big wins go to those with maximum 50k holdings. does anyone know if this is 1 holding of 50k, or many smaller holdings totalling 50k?

I'm not aware of data about holding sizes being published routinely, but in 2021 it was reported that about 43% of bonds were held by those with £50K worth (which wouldn't differentiate between those with single or grouped bonds), so it should be expected that they'd win 43% of the prizes on average:

Love the fact that someone won £100,000 with a total holding of £135, combined with the winning bond (£60 purchase) only having been bought in May 2023.
