Extended warranty - but no evidence

I recently bought an AEG tumble dryer. It came with a phone number to register for a two year (instead of standard one year) warranty. I did this, but they company managing the process did not provide any evidence I have registered the product; they say it is recorded on their system if I need to make a claim. This seems wrong - what if I phone and they insist they have no record of my product? Why would a company not simply email/post a confirmation of warranty?
