I found out I was dyslexic and dyspraxic in November and had my assessment of need in December. I have just got a letter back from my LEA, there are quite a few things that are mentioned in the assessment of need that the LEA have not mentioned at all in the letter to me. Is it possible to appeal or ask them to consider more things or is the LEA decision final?
I get an internet allowance but i have to send in my bills but in a shared house, the bills are not in my name so im not sure how that can work and i'd rather use the internet allowance allocated to me to get a printer instead, but i don't know what the LEA would say if i suggessted this? TheLEA also said they would pay for Office but again i already have Office so would prefer to use that allocation to pay for other things the assessment of need recommended but the LEA letter made no reference to.0 -
If they have missed things off the letter, I would give them a call to discuss it further.
The internet and Office allowance are for exactly those things. If you do not need them, you should not be claiming them. It may be possible for them to fund a printer and other items separately (you can buy a printer for less than £30).
If you use the money for other things, and they do a random audit, you may find yourself being investigated for fraud.Gone ... or have I?0
