Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, cold start to the day, think there may be a frost. We didn't get snow yesterday forecast said we may, but we didn't. Hoping for a dry bright day, we'll see.
Dinner last night was tortellini in creamy tomato sauce with chicken - small portion left DH taking it to work for this lunch. I remembered to defrost the beef overnight so that's now in the slow cooker with veg and gravy, we'll have that with LO yorkshires, mash, veg and dumplings.
Work was ok yesterday, apart from it was cold, and it took me an hour to get warm once I got home. Working in other office today and that is much warmer.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, it's rotten being cold at work.
Seems to be dry this morning, doesn't appear to be a frost so the car should be ok. I have a hospital appt first thing - no idea where I'm going so had better get moving soon.
Work was surprisingly quiet yesterday, just the usual things to do. I'm sure there will be plenty to get on with once I get there today so will probably stay late to get on top of things.
Hoping all the poorlies are on the mend and you have a good day. Take care. XX11 -
Morning
Back to my part time (term time) job today - I do random/flexible hours so just a few hours this morning. Need to drop off the campervan for a service enroute (and collect afterwards) and have various other errands……post orders, collect DMs hearing aid batteries, recycle out of date contact lenses and collect some fabric. Will hopefully be home in time to walk B-dog before it’s dark!I’m contemplating swapping two pieces of furniture around so am gradually emptying/sorting one to make more space so might finish that this evening too.Hope those with snow aren’t too cold or find travelling difficult- just cold here!

Chilly outside but not frosty. Could be another dry day ahead.Yesterday I headed up to Oban for some shopping, loads of veggies and no sweet things 😀 My cleaner came and did upstairs so it was good to come back to. Lunch was half of the steak pie I bought last week, it was tasty enough to be able to look forward to it again today.Today I'm going to make a pot of lentil soup, it's one of my top three favourites and easy to make. I don't really do measurements, onions, leeks, lentils, stock and seasoning. At the very end I add in white / red wine vinegar as it brightens the flavour. The ABs seem to be making a difference already, intermittent coughing and only two spasms , one whilst talking to my closet friend on the phone. I'm better off not talking! My new iPad is arriving today so I'll fiddle about setting it up later, it's easy now to transfer everything from old to new. The current one is slowly fading, it keeps turning itself off, mind you I bought it in 2017 so it's lasted well, probably well beyond its intended time. Use it mainly to listen to podcasts and audiobooks through a Bluetooth speaker.I hope that those still in the difficult throes of various lurgies get some respite. Keep warm everyone.11

Morning all
Very cold here this morning and not meant to get above freezing all day, yesterday we had some snow 😃 I was so excited it came down quite heavily at one point unfortunately it didn’t settle so just back to cold and grey this morning.
Three people coming today and we had decided to go for a walk along the seafront and get a cuppa somewhere, will re evaluate once they are here as it’s so cold, I am happy to go walking in this but will see how the others feel.
Dinner tonight will be chicken chips and peas, I bought a chicken yesterday and roasted it and had some with my dinner last night we will have some tonight and the rest for sandwiches this week. Dd is on a late shift so will eat at work.
House is tidy and no washing to do for once.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all!
Glad the lurgy stricken are recovering. Looking at you Gers. It's been a long time.
Very dull and very cold here. Don't feel motivated to do much which is unusual as I'm a morning person. Was warm and tucked up in bed last night when my door buzzer went off . It's not a nice noise at the best of times. It was nearly midnight. I knew a neighbour had lost a friend over new year so answered in case it was her. I shouldn't have .A drunken voice informed me that he had probably pressed the wrong buzzer. I said it depends which flat he wanted. He said "33" I said this is 20. He laughed ( drunkenly) I went back to bed and it happened again . I stayed in bed but couldn't get to sleep .
Got ironing to do which is at least a warm job and then clean fridge .
Chips with something for tea . Wish mine tasted like my mother used to make in the old chip pan. I have tried home made in the air fryer but they seem crunchy on the ends and soggy in the middle .
Keep well and warm everyone .

Good morning everyone. A cold start here but doesn't look frosty. Washing machine is chugging away and it will be out on the airer to dry as there is no sign of any breeze. Another day of visiting a bank to follow up on a letter received, unfortunately means a visit to another town as our local branch has closed.
Hope the poorlies are improving and those with worries are finding solutions.
Take care xx11 -
Morning all. No snow here yet but still jolly cold.
Glad to hear you're improving Gers; hope the antibiotics sort you out.
Today I'm going to make a cake for a friend, in return for her lending me her melodeon at Christmas. The mixture is enough for two cakes so we'll keep one here to eat, in case of a cake crisis! It's a Nigel Slater spicy ginger cake, so will use up some of the stem ginger in the jar that hangs around post Christmas.
Tonight DH and I are going to the Plough Tuesday meal with my Morris side. I know it's a day late but it'll be eating, dancing and making music so all good fun The Plough Sunday church service, where they bless the plough for the year ahead, is on Sunday but I'm not able to make that.
Just had a message to say that my buddy at the Larder has got Covid so that's one person down tomorrow. I've offered to collect her some shopping and drop it off so will see what she says.
Hope everyone's day goes well.12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. We all seem to be having similar weather this morning - grey and cold, very cold! But there must be some light at the end of the tunnel as it dawned on me yesterday that I am closing the blinds half an hour later and opening them again half an hour earlier next morning.
WW grr to the drunk! Years ago (pre mobile phones) our landline was 1 number away from a taxi firm and I lost count of the number of drunks ringing for a taxi on a Friday night. CAMELOT I hope all goes well at the hospital.
No lunch out today as DF joined the ranks of the coughing brigade 'tween Xmas and NY. She says she is finally feeling a bit better so we hope to meet up at the end of the week all being well. I have no other plans so I think it will be a re-run of yesterday - a day of sloth watching catch-up and ignoring jobs I should be doing!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, poorly toes, sad and lonely. Take care all, keep safe and warm xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning everyone
Forecast to be cold and sunny here today, yesterday was the same but I spent my day very lazily and wasn't out other than to the shed and the bin. I spent a couple of hours in the afternoon building my Lego Dobbie eldest DD bought me for Christmas - he's in pride of the place on the bookcase in the living room. I still have his spell book and flying birthday cake to build - though little one informed me last night 'it won't actually fly granny it's made of Lego.' Spoilsport! I had her for an hour before bed while DD was at a Zumba class - she was so excited to go back to school today.
Unfortunately my PIP appeal came back with a no, though I did get some points for mobility but not enough and they agreed I have Long Covid, but I'm not ill enough to get financial help. Also had a phone call from Universal Credit, basically they'll phone me once a week until I start working more hours...if I worked just 3 more I think they'd be happy. So I'll give my boss a ring this morning just to say if anyone is off in a morning then I can go in. I still feel no better and just as tired all the time so I expect having to start earlier in the day would only make me feel worse but needs must.
Well I'd best get on, I hope everyone has a good day today. Glad to hear you're feeling better Gers.12 -
Morning all! Four loads of washing done yesterday but luckily there were a few large things that don't go in the td so only two loads done there. Just two loads left to go now, the bedding and some bigger stuff again. It did snow a tiny tiny bit yesterday, I told it it wasn't trying hard enough. Again, no plans for today, I think I'll take a stew out of the freezer and chuck in some dumplings for tonight. My inventories are slipping away from me again so Id better get back on the ball...I've been carrying a vicotorian style airer round with me for at least twenty eight years and I had a brainwave to stick it above the fire last week. So that's in the future job to do list. I'll only be hanging clothes or herbs off it and if I don't like it, I can always take it down again.Gers, pleased to hear your mending, enjoy the soup! camelot, good luck with your appointment. nanny, hope your tests go well. Ruby, I think you need duvet suits in this weather WL, how is Plough Tuesday a day late? I had to check twice it was actually Tuesday today after you sad that TA, summer will be here soon enough dp1, how very annoying and disappointing. Is there anything else you can do? Izzy, hope you're in your gym gear ready to do some serious running...with a pink headband and everything Take care all, wrap up, but warm, not like a mummy.....Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...7
