Issues with SSE/OVO/Ombudsman
Feeling pretty desperate now and looking for advice. I’ve had a case with the ombudsman for over a year against SSE, one of the many issues is that they’re charging me for gas even though the supply was removed when the building was redeveloped before I purchased it. I’ve provided them with photos, the builders evidence that they removed the supply and SSE have sent engineers round 3 times to confirm there’s no supply. SSE removing my gas from the national database was one of the remedy points with the ombudsman and in July my case was closed as SSE said they’d actioned all remedy points. But they haven’t and I’m still down as having a gas supply on the national database so can’t switch and am still being billed for gas. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?! The ombudsman doesn’t seem bothered that SSE lied to them.

What did the ombudsman's office actually say when you went back to them with the new bills? Is the issue that you were an SSE customer and are now an OVO customer (no material change, but might be causing the issue in the background with the complaint being against a brand that doesn't exist anymore).
If nothing else, you could open a new complaint with the new bills as they're a new issue (getting the bills cancelled and potentially getting compensation). I would have thought you could also move your electricity as a single fuel?I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.0 -
OVO have said that they’ve taken instruction from SSE on what supply I have and as SSE say I’ve got gas they’re now billing me for it too.Apparently the issue is SSEs to solve and update the national database which they’ve already claimed they’ve done. They’ve just asked me to provide evidence again vi the ombudsman for the seventh time. I don’t know what more I can do.0

It might be worth contacting your gas distribution network operator and asking them to get the national database corrected.0
