Discovered its a Galaxy Tab A 2016 ! Not really been used as we have had plenty of pc's around but now gone with the children. We have our own here still but again find a tablet would be really useful for its mobility. Will watch stuff on u tube mostly, odd films, cooking bits, notetaking pen would be useful, but dont need a big worktool as we would use the pc. mostly for that. Good size screen would be great. Seen the latest galaxy s series in currys (impressed) but don't feel comfortable with advice there. Looking at paying £350 ish. Would welcome some ideas please just to give us somewhere to start.

Yes, you could get a tab S8+ for £1,000 but it would be massive overkill.
Like you I have other devices, laptops, etc. but I really like my Tab A 2016 which I use every day.
It doesn't do a pen but I find it still really good for Youtube, recipes, browsing, etc. I also use it for watching movies in bed (but I'm usually asleep after 10 mins!)1 -
Tab S9 FE a very capable tablet. We bought one for similar circumstances, travelling etc. It's proved to be excellent in use so far.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2016, which I bought a few years ago. I regard it as my new Tab, and the one I use most often, especially in the Caravan in the summer."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock1
