You cancelled your insurance mid year? Well that was foolish. Why? Just wait until the year is up and move elsewhere like millions of people do every single year. All you have done now is exposed yourself to the higher industry prices earlier than you needed to, and have a cancellation fee to find.

Its been all over the news that the cost of business for car insurers has shot up, your isnt an isolated case.

Why did you terminate with immediate effect?
That will often meet with an administration charge higher than the remaining premium to be refunded.

What alternative insurance do you now have in place?

Did you shop around to check prices before acting on the current policy?
Is this a case of act in haste, repent at leisure?
  • "Long term customer" is irrelevant to them.

All insurance has increased a lot over the last year or two - and if the renewal with this insurer is uncompetitive, it may simply be that they're moving away from the kind of policyholder you are to better spread their risk. Maybe it's your location, maybe it's your car, maybe it's your demographic. It's not personal.

Just look around for an insurer that offers you better value.

Cancelling a policy part-way through in a fit of pique, though? That's silly.

Remember, you buy insurance annually, even if you pay for it monthly. The difference is simply that you're taking out finance to pay for the annual policy.

I recently received my Classic car's renewal from Onecall and it was treble the previous year's price. :/
I searched for an alternative and Oneclick came up with a quote equal to Onecall's previous year. I found out that Oneclick and One call are one and the same! Cover is provided by exactly the same company, both previously and for the new policy.
I had fortunately deactivated auto renewal online but phoned Onecall to confirm. During the phonecall I was asked why I was thinking of leaving. When told I had already taken up Oneclick's price it was matched immediately. Too late. Oneclick/Onecall will charge an "administration fee" even before a policy start date and during the cooling off period.

Onecall & One Click is a trading name of One Call Insurance Services Limited

Are not insurance companies. They are brokers, so look for the best price from their selected underwriters
