Where Is The Cheapest Place To Buy Nicotine Patches?

  • Therein lies the rub.

When I decided I was going to give up I (thought  ) I had the bright idea of allowing myself 5 cigs a day. I realised fairly quickly that not only was I living from one smoke to next I was already looking forward to the next as I lit the "allowed" ones! Mark each hour up as you go without one, it gives a sense of achievement. A friend of mine has saved £3000 this year by giving up  last New Year's eve.

Tag - don't try to do too much at once. Either start drinking tea/water/juice instead of coffee or stand up to drink, sit another room, go outside. Break the association. That said, orange juice and burning tobacco taste vile together anyway. Might be a good place to start!

Speak to your pharmacist about whether you need patches or gum - it depends on the amount you smoke.
Its going to be hard - try the NHS stop smoking line, some people think they are quite helpful.
Its more difficult to stop smoking then to come off heroin. Good luck and stick to it.

At the moment Boots have nicotine patches on at half price. I got some niquitine clear for OH for £6.50 instead of the usual 12 or 13 quid. The offer should last another couple of weeks so stock up!

While I agree the nictotine leaves the system after a few days I always found the first two weeks the most critical time for relapse and the patches really helped get me over this difficult period. After a couple of weeks I was happy to go cold turkey. Have given up a few times and each time it gets easier. Though susceptible to slip ups when tipsy, I am happy to say I have been clean for a couple of years now.

You would be best to go to this website to find your nearest help:
    http://gosmokefree.nhs.uk/

The government are now playing a big part in helping people quit as it will save them in the long run, what with NHS needs years down the line.

If you are on benefits your treatment will be free and the whole board of products are available to you. You are assessed to find the best course of action or you can try out what you are thinking about. If you work the treatments are subsidised so you pay a discounted price.

You will have your carbon levels checked each time you go for more but I would recommend this service.
