Virgin late payments

Hi,
I have a direct debit set up with virgin money credit card. The due date was yesterday (sunday), it said I was late with my payment. The direct debit was due to go out of my account this morning (as it was a weekend) and did. It has showed up as a transaction for sunday on virgin. But the monthly statement generated on Sunday said I was in arrears.
Will the statement be updated with my payment? Never had this issue with other credit cards, if it’s a weekend they are due on they usually get paid the Friday before. I don’t want to have a missed payment on my credit file.

If it is a DD setup then it is up to Virgin to request the payment in a timely fashion and, in my experience, they always do so.  I would suggest that you speak with them to establish what has happened in this case.

It might be a Virgin thing, as above, contact them and raise a complaint if needed - them not taking a DD on the weekend is not your fault so no reason for it to be late. All my cards take the DD on the Monday (or Tue if a bank holiday) except $!%*%!? Santander who do it before and cannot keep their DD dates consistent - I had a temporary -ve on my current account for the first time ever when they randomly took the DD (due 28th) on the 24th and the 28th wasn't even at the weekend!

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Sorry, I'm confused about the timetable. A new statement is issued somewhere between 4-7 days after the payment due date, as it will show all the information about payments, interest due, charges etc. That will take a couple of days to compile.

You say both payment due and statement were both dated this last Sunday (7 Jan). Check the dates again!

Spoke to them this morning. My statement date was 17th December, and payment date was 7th January. After the 17th December I requested to change my payment date to 28th of the month. So it generated the next statement on 7th January, so it was 3 weeks before my next payment date on January 28th. Unfortunately that coincided with my original payment date of 7th, which also unfortunately was a Sunday. So it looked like I had missed that payment as it would’ve gone out on Monday.
Virgin were fine about it, and said my payment today showed as a transaction on Sunday, so it wasn’t late or a missed payment.
Wish I hadn’t changed the date now the stress it’s given me.
