Hello guys, I am getting really frustrated with the 8 tentacled one.

They are only getting sporadic readings from my gas meter which means I can’t realistically use gas tracker, which is not allowing me to go to tracker and thus save circa 15% on my gas in the last two months.

I have requested a mini twice in the last 7 months  >:) nada so far.

The toy(IHD) works with gas and electric meters , after a fashion it doesn’t know about the rate on flux at various times, but that’s a non-existent problem to me.

I just wonder if they could set up an Alt-Han, which I think they have available.

Of course most of my problems stem from having L&G smets1 meters and a Trilliant hub

I will ring them tomorrow anyway.

When you say "can't realistically" do you mean you've asked and been turned down? They used to offer Tracker to "dumb" smart meter owners, and I was one for 6 months. Even with daily averaging you still save good money.

Happy to be corrected but I don't think the mini works with SMETS1 equipment?

    Don't think that's a SMETS1 option either?
They're unlikely to replace your meters, but you can ask.

I've got a SMETS1 electric meter and it works fine with the mini.

Thanks, I know Hildebrand sell different models of IHD depending on whether you have SMETS 1 or 2 equipment. Thought it might be the same with the mini.

The Mini cannot help with retrieving information for billing though, so it is not going to help in any meaningful way with sporadic gas data...
Frustrating as it is, for now at least, data used for billing from the smart meter must come through the DCC.
I know Octopus want to change that, but it is not possible yet...

They raise bills with my monthly submitted readings.

I would love a Mini but I have had no response either, neither has anyone else I know who applied for one. I do know that it is a very limited rollout though and when requesting one it does say that, so I am not that surprised.

Yes, that has always been possible, smart or not, they just can't accept billing data from the smart meter by a path that does not go through the DCC, so using a CAD to extract data via the HAN and pass it on to the supplier over the internet isn't allowed for billing purposes.
