I'd recommend an independent agency in this case.

I can pass an agency I would personally use (that I don't have any commercial relationship with but 2 of my own suppliers do) subject to approval from the Forum Team on request. As this is a company I have personally spoken to in the past regarding our commercial offerings, I would prefer to message the FT before recommending on your request for permission as to not be in breach of forum rules on advertising.

As a general advice, you may be best (time permitting) to use a fixed outbound option and a flexible return, subject to your personal needs, however the US is outside my particular area of expertise.

I used to have a very good independent travel agent in Edinburgh that I used regulary back in the 1990s before the internet made it easy to book relatively straightforward travel online, but I haven't used one for well over 20 years now. However, you could be right in this case that they might be useful for a more complicated booking.
I'd be happy to receive your recommendation by DM should you wish to give, I can't see that would be breaking any rules, but if you'd rather post in the thread you're probably right to seek confirmation from the FT first.
The problem with a fixed outbound flight is that if the launch is delayed by longer than the time I want (and can afford) to stay in the US, which of course is what's just happened, then I'd be reliant on cancellation terms.

Given how easy it is to book flights on routes to Florida (or even Atlanta, Georgia) close to the time (days) and not pay more than a flexible ticket I would just sit tight until you know the dates.

No need for agents or anything complex in this scenario really as you have the flexibility.
