What's This (tire help)?
Options
Hi, I've been driving my new (new to me car) just over a week now and happened to notice a mark on the right rear tire, that looks almost like a dent. It's not been kerbed or anything, so I'm wondering what this is, and if it means a new tire?
Any advice would be appreciated!

That tyre looks under inflated, when did you check? Probably side wall damage due to running under inflated.0

I collected the car last Friday, and just noticed it today. The tire is / was at the specified pressure, however it's nearly two years old but has only done 2700 miles, so it might have been sat for a while with the dealership.0

What model of Dacia is this? Is there a full size spare? Is it under-slung in a cradle? That looks a bit like the marks one gets on caravan spare wheel tyres when carried in a tubular steel cradle.

To be on the safe side take the car along to a nearby, trusted, tyre place (or MOT centre, possibly) to check? (i.e. not one of the big chains that want to sell you not-needed work),1 -
It's a 2022 Sendero Stepway and, unfortunately no spare wheel. If it did have one, it would be in the compartment under the boot floor.
There's a local garage that's trusted so I'll be taking it in on Monday morning to see what they say.0 -
Perfectly normal - it's down to the way the reinforcing belts inside the tyre carcass are joined.
Bulges OUT would be a problem. That kind of indentation isn't.
