  • Honestly,  some of your comments beggars belief, let's hope you all have someone around to take care of things when your circumstances change and you no longer fit the norm

What would have happened if she hadn't had someone to take care of this? No doubt the prudential would have continued to take the premiums from her bank account in the absence of any notification of a change in circumstances and then on any subsequent claim would cry foul?
... which is why having a POA in place is essential - as is informing the insurance company of any change of circumstances.

Think you are having difficulty in reading. How would a POA help if there was nobody to take care of business???????

You're not making much sense here. The whole point of appointing an attorney is that you then do have someone to take care of business.

Prudential don't write Home insurance themselves, they license their brand to Direct Line Group. In fact I thought the deal had come to an end with Pru customers being offered Churchill policies on renewal.

At the end of the day unoccupied home insurance is simply a different product to home insurance, it's not a product DLG writes and so not something they can offer you. It'd be like owning Ferraris for years and then asking them for a 106/Clio sized vehicle because your changing needs... its just not something they make so you really cannot blame them for saying they can't help.
