    Morning,

Well DS has gone off to his dad's house, I am choosing to look at the positives, my food will last longer.
ExH picked him up in a brand new car, an expensive luxury brand and proceeded to tell us he got it cheap and he is broke. Yah nice try.
Anyway after horrendous traffic (and 2 accidents!!!) on the way there we had an easy trip back and all closed roads were open when we returned. I had a NSD  I am hoping for another today I don't need anything anyway...so...

    Money-Saving News
I signed DP up to the Spr1ve app same as me, I found my referral code and used that, he has been paid £5 already too  so that has been sent to MOP this morning.

I have cashed out £10 Am@zonia voucher on SB surveys I want some furniture legs for my new-to-me record cabinet. I am going to take the castors off and put legs on instead and sand down the cupboard and wax or paint depending on how good the veneer is under the varnish that is on there ...it is not an expensive antique I don't believe, it is not proper wood and although the seller sold it as an antique I don't feel bad for painting it or sanding it - I've a house of antiques and this might be old but it's not worth much so I am happy to upcycle it  I have the wax in and sander and paint stripper so just need the legs which I will buy with the voucher.

£300 has been paid across to our YBS accounts for MOP for later in the year.

I am waiting on a few more surveys to go through so that I can cash out on pr0l1fic. I am just below the payout threshold with a few pending. I haven't had much luck on there lately to be honest, don't get many sent my way and then when I do they are already full when I click on them 2 seconds later, eh?! I also keep getting ones that want to use my microphone and it doesn't seem to work very well so had a few I wasted time on. I will just refuse those from now on.

If I can manage a NSD that will be 4 in a row!

    DETOX cleanse & exercise
This morning DP and I weighed ourselves and we have taken some herbal supplements and juice to kick start our detox (I am doing this alongside my friend who has just been diagnosed with C as support so we both have same supplements albeit she is taking doubel dose of some ...DP wanted to do as well to lose a few lb). I will make a juice with celery and spinach and apple later for our 'break-fast' after 12.
DP is going to walk dog around the block and bring him back and then we will head out on a proper walk where we are not start stop all the way round as you do with a dog...we will get some proper exercise.
My foot is feeling so much better, I have been taking bromelain for inflammation and wow I didn't realise how swollen it was until it wasn't. I have also been taking arnica for any bruising. I will carry on with both. I want to go on a walk though, but at my pace, not work pace (superspeed) and not dog pace (annoying stop start). We will go round the fields at the back of the house, there is lots of wheat, rapeseed flowers and other things growing...lots of bunny rabbits, birds and other wildlife to be spotted  I haven't done that in a while as I have always saved my energy for work. At dusk you can see hundreds of bats flying around too... I will walk as far as I feel is okay and see how my foot feels later. It is no longer clicking like it was so I am praying it was just tendonitis or a bad sprain or whatever- not a break.

    Resignation
I handed my notice in yesterday, synchronised with the other supervisor. The manager complained very loudly in our WA group that she was sad to see us both go and she would have to work 10 hour shifts now. I didn't respond really, well I did, I responded with what she used to say to both of us...once we were 10 staff members short and expected to do their job as well as ours..she told us, you got this you're both amazing! AND then she proceeded to waltz off home and left us to it. The other supervisor responded with "YOU GOT THIS!" and i followed up with "YOU'RE AMAZING" and then we both proceeded to log off :joy: childish yes....but satisfactory haha!

Would love to have been a fly on the wall watching supervisor lol.

My XH bought a new car after leaving and made sure it was the next model up from mine and a few year newer.  It only lasted about 5 months before he broke it.  He has gone through many more since which I find amusing as he knows how to find good cars that will last!  Fingers crossed DS will come home and quickly be himself again.

    Enjoy your walk

  • It was pretty funny- well to us anyway not sure how the manager felt. Hopefully a little taste of what she's done to us for over a year......hmm....lol

Walk done, found a HUGE patch of dandelions so picked 100 large ones, leaving plenty for the bees....came home and started up some dandelion honey  it will steep overnight and then I will add sugar tomorrow. It smells amazing already! (if you'd like to try I got the recipe from Vegan on board- just search up their name on the internet and dandelion honey) I've made it before and it was delicious, last year and the year before I was too overwhelmed with DIY & work and ran out of time (dandelions all turned to wishes!) So I am pleased I got there in good time this year
We walked 2.5 miles so a kind of short one for us, and my foot is still good so I am happy with that.
I am off to experiment with making some falafels now which will save me £3 and I already have all the ingredients in  will let you know how that goes

  • Morning all,
I had a NSD yesterday *claps hands* That is four I believe!
Yes it is I checked, I have actually been noting them down on my budget planner this time. I will hold off declaring five because I might need sugar today....might not though will check how much I have left I know I was running very low though.

The dandelions have steeped overnight in filtered water and lemons, I need to find my jam jars and wash and sterilise them and then cook up the honey much the same way you would with fruit into jam.

I potted on some money plants I had in water yesterday and some devil's ivy all cuttings from my house plants that had been sitting in water for months. So they are all potted up, will give most away I think if they take, or try to sell cheaply outside the house...I am overrun with house plants!

DP is getting on with the small toilet room still....can't actually believe how long this room is taking us  we both had to laugh really, back last year we would have done three times the amount of work needed in there in a day not three months  I think we have run out of DIY steam.
It is coming together slowly though, we have shelving all up behind the toilet to make it look like it is built in and so the toilet does not look bizarre being a foot out into the room.

I still, have not made these falafels. I did make a very nice sweet potato, courgette and lentil curry though last night. It went down well with everyone and the sweet potatoes made a nice change to normal ones. I wish they weren't so expensive I think I would swap over to them permanently they don't give me tummy ache like normal ones do.

Today I will make a pie for dinner and some steamed veg with mash. AND because I got all experimental yesterday with sweet potatoes instead of normal ones I am going to do mashed butternut squash (alongside some potatoes to bulk it out) as I have one that has sat on the side for weeks now and needs eating.

Taking it easy today after our long walk yesterday, have a few twinges in my foot and leg.
Not much else planned aside from trying to find sugar in cupboards so I can declare another NSD

Once again it is on my list to do these falafels too.....will report back if I manage this one :joy:
Cold and windy here so aside from walking the dog a nice warm day with a cosy jumper and fluffy socks is required!

It sounds like you are doing very well on the NS days well done, I find the NS days thread is quite helpful, it is under debtfree wannabe board I don't know if you have seen it before, but everyone gives each other tips and you get congratulated when you achieve another NS day, when you report in your days activities - spend wise. I am sorry I don't know how to attach the thread to this mesage.

Thanks I will have a look. I keep forgetting to do that. I will bookmark it when I find it this time!
Wasn't a NSD today, I had to order something on Amazonia sadly. Less than £7 though so a LSD at least!

  • The falafels turned out great! They taste almost the same as shop bought ones. Didn't take too long to put together and now I've done one batch I will make four times the amount next time and freeze three lots so I have a month's supply ready and done.
The honey also came out well. I've a large jar of it done, the consistency is good and it tastes yummy, floral and sweet and good for sweetening drinks and on toast. I will make more next time so I have jars ready to use in the cupboard.
I've decided that I am going to drive to the city tomorrow, I have a birthday present to drop anyway and I want to pop to Mr A or L for cheap cupboard stock like spices and herbs and cous cous type staples and then I will pop into a s'burys or Mr T for the rest of the shop.
The wallpaper is going up in the small bathroom too woop!
Here's a picture of the falafels they really were good! And so basic! Onions, chickpeas and a tiny amount of flour and spices!
